Collection Accounts
If you or someone you know has any collections accounts there is many things you can do to remove them. First would be to settle with the collection company and have them put “settled” on your credit report which is much better than having an unpaid collection account. The problems with this is that many times collection companies will just take your money and not update anything or sell it to another collection company and you just lost your money. It is very important that when an if you do settle a collection account you get it in writing on what terms you want. For example if you want the account to be completed deleted from your report make sure you say that on your contract with the collection company. Send them a copy and have them sign it an return it to you that way you have proof you paid and you have the leverage.
Another way is to dispute with the credit bureaus and with the collection companies individually. The issue with this is that once an item comes back verified what do you do next? If you are like most people that gives up after this then that is why you should seek services from a qualified company that can go to work for you. There is to many laws to discuss the kind of rights we have as consumers and can go to work for you!
